By engaging with our services, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined by Urul Chauffeurs Ltd.
These terms and conditions form the basis of the agreement between you ("the Customer") and Urul Chauffeurs Ltd ("the Company") for the provision of private hire transportation services. Urul Chauffeurs Ltd accepts passengers, luggage, and personal belongings for carriage only under the conditions outlined below. Urul Chauffeurs Ltd, as a licensed London PHV operator, is responsible for both accepting the booking and providing the transportation services. In compliance with Transport for London (TfL) regulations, Urul Chauffeurs Ltd operates under the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998 and Regulation 9(14) of the Private Hire Vehicles (London) (Operators' Licenses) Regulations 2000. Accordingly, all bookings, regardless of how they are made, will be accepted as principal, creating a contractual obligation with the passenger to provide the agreed journey as per the private hire booking.
Definitions
- "The Company" refers to Urul Chauffeurs Ltd (hereinafter referred to as "the Company").
- "Customer" denotes the individual or organisation directly engaging with the Company for its services.
- "Conditions" refer to the terms governing the provision of private hire transportation services, as outlined here, including any amendments communicated to the Customer by the Company.
- "Contract" represents the agreement, inclusive of journey details and provided estimates, between the Customer and the Company, applicable to all bookings.
- "Driver" means an individual licensed by Transport for London to operate a Passenger Vehicle for private hire bookings in line with the Private Hire Vehicles (London) Act 1998.
- "Passenger(s)" includes the Customer, and any additional individuals authorised by the Customer to use the transportation services.
- "Passenger Vehicle" refers to any London-licensed vehicle used for transporting passengers.
- "Booking" refers to a confirmed arrangement for a Driver or Chauffeur to provide transportation services. All bookings must be made in advance by phone or email and will be confirmed via email upon receipt of payment.
Booking and Reservations
Each Booking constitutes a binding contract between Urul Chauffeurs Ltd, the Customer, and the individual arranging theservice if different from the Passenger.
- "Charges" refer to the agreed costs of the service, excluding additional fees, as outlined in the estimate provided at the time of booking.
- "Cancellation Fee" is the charge applicable if a customer cancels the service prior to the scheduled collection time.
- "Cancellation on Arrival Fee" is charged if the Passenger is not ready for collection after the allotted waiting period.
- "Luggage & Personal Items" include all items carried by a Passenger, whether in suitcases, bags, or otherwise.
- "Service" refers to the transportation provided by the Company upon request by the Customer.
- "As Directed Booking" involves a customer-requested service limited to 40 miles of driving within a 4-hour period and includes at least three stops as directed by the Passenger.
- "Waiting Time" refers to charges incurred due to delays before or during the journey.
- "Central London" encompasses areas within the London Congestion Zone, including postcodes EC1, EC2, EC3, EC4, SE1, SW1, W1, WC1, and WC2.
1. Service Procurement
By making a booking inquiry via phone oremail, the customer confirms they are legally capable of entering intocontracts and are at least 18 years old. Additionally, all personal informationprovided for the purpose of receiving services must be accurate and current.
To request a quote or book a service, the customermust provide details such as the number of passengers, ages of children (ifany), collection and destination addresses (including postcodes), contactdetails, and any special requirements. Failure to provide accurate informationmay result in the inability to process a quote or booking.
The Company reserves the right to refuseany booking at its discretion without liability.
Customers must use Passenger Vehicles incompliance with applicable laws and may not utilise the service for unlawfulactivities.
All quoted prices are in GBP, excludingVAT, and are based on the collection and drop-off addresses provided at thetime of booking.
2. Passenger and Luggage Guidelines
2.1 Customers are responsible for allcharges associated with their booking.
2.2 A journey officially starts whenPassengers boards the vehicle and ends when they disembark at the destination.
2.3 Overloading vehicles beyond their legalcapacity is prohibited. Drivers may cancel the journey if overloading occurs.
2.4 Passengers are responsible for ensuringtheir luggage and personal items are properly loaded and unloaded. The Companyis not liable for any loss or damage to such items.
2.5 Passengers must reimburse the Companyfor any damages or soiling caused to the vehicle, including cleaning chargesand potential loss of earnings for the Driver.
2.6 Drivers may refuse to transport individuals who pose an immediate safety risk due to intoxication or disorderly behavior. However, the Operator remains responsible for the booking, and only the Operator has the authority to cancel a booking. The driver may decline the trip before accepting but cannot unilaterally cancel once assigned.
2.7 Smoking, including the use of electronic cigarettes, is not permitted in any vehicle.
2.8 Assistance dogs are permitted at all times, without prior notice, in compliance with UK equality laws. Drivers cannot refuse passengers traveling with assistance dogs unless an exemption has been granted by TfL for medical reasons.
2.9 Eating or drinking in vehicles is generally prohibited unless medically necessary
2.10 Seatbelt use is mandatory under the Road Traffic Act 1988.
2.11 Unaccompanied minors under 18 yearsold are not permitted to travel.
3. Recruitment & Ex-Offender Policy
3.1 Fair Recruitment Approach
Urul Chauffeurs Ltd is committed to equal opportunities and fair recruitment practices while ensuring compliance with Transport for London (TfL) regulations.
3.2 Background Checks
All applicants, including ex-offenders, are assessed individually based on their suitability for the role.
We conduct thorough criminal background checks, including Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) screening, before hiring any driver or staff handling bookings.
Candidates with disclosed convictions undergo a risk assessment to determine their suitability for the role.
3.3 Compliance with Regulations
We comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, ensuring that only relevant convictions are considered when assessing a candidate.
Where a conviction poses a risk to passenger safety or regulatory compliance, we reserve the right to reject the application.
Our policy aligns with TfL’s licensing requirements for private hire operators.
4. Charges
Quotes are provided as estimates and mayexclude additional charges such as waiting time, tolls, or special surcharges.
5. Payment and Deposits
Payment must be made in advance via direct bank transfer, square payment, or cash in exceptional cases. Fares for all bookings are set by Urul Chauffeurs Ltd. Payments may be collected by the Operator directly or by the driver acting as an agent of the Operator.
6. Cancellation sand Refunds
Cancellations must be made via phone and confirmed by email. Cancellation fees may apply if made within specified timeframes. Only Urul Chauffeurs Ltd has the authority to cancel a booking once it has been accepted. However, drivers may decline a booking before accepting it.
7. Business Account Services
Invoices are issued monthly for business account holders and are payable within 30 days unless otherwise agreed.
8. Complaints
Complaints should be reported promptly viaphone or email. The Company aims to respond to all complaints within 14 days.
9. Liability & Responsibilities
Liability for all transportation services provided under this agreement remains with Urul Chauffeurs Ltd. The company ensures all drivers and vehicles meet TfL's licensing and safety standards.
10. Subcontracting
Urul Chauffeurs Ltd may subcontract bookings to another licensed PHV operator when necessary. However, the contract remains with Urul Chauffeurs Ltd, ensuring that the passenger’s rights and service quality are upheld.
11. Driver Welfare & Recruitment
Urul Chauffeurs Ltd follows a structured recruitment process, including background checks and an Ex-Offender Policy.
12. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of English courts.
